  • They are also easy to clean

Types of Dentures

Every  denture is tailored to each patient’s requirements. We select and place your denture teeth onto its base to match the shape, size and character of the teeth that you have lost giving a natural apperance. There are three main types of partial dentures:

Acrylic  Dentures

Our acrylic dentures are generally made from an  acrylic material which is high-strength and durable. If you look after the dentures, then this material is unlikely to stain or darken and will remain natural looking for many years. We can design these with small clips (known as clasps) which grip the surrounding teeth and hold a partial denture in place.

Chrome “Metal” Dentures

Cobalt chrome dentures are a metal base denture with higher dimensional stability than acrylic dentures, they are thinner and stronger than conventional acrylic dentures due to this they feel less intrusive and easier to adapt to. The acrylic part is connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Your dentist can design a window in the metal framework for you so that you can still feel and taste food through the roof of your mouth. Metal partial dentures might be the most suitable option for you if you struggled before with bulky dentures covering the roof of your mouth. They also make eating food a more enjoyable and comfortable experience.

“Flexible” Dentures

Designed from flexible and unbreakable resin, the latest flexible dentures offer a more comfortable fit when compared to more rigid plastic dentures. The reason for this is that flexible dentures adjust to any irregularities and shape changes in the mouth. With the absence of any metal frame and using super-thin, but ultra-strong materials, there is no bulky feeling and they blend in much better with your gums.

What are  Dentures?

A denture is a removable prosthetic device that replaces missing teeth and adjacent tissues. There are several options available for dentures such as, standard acrylic “plastic”, chrome “metal” and “Flexible” dentures. After your consultation your dentist will devise a treatment plan and explain about the different types of dentures we offer and the most suitable option for you.
